Loved this place, an incredible sandwich. I got chicken salad on squaw bread with everything on it. Highly recommended! Got a half sized side of pasta salad, and also potato salad, both homemade. I felt like I was in the owners home kitchen! Will totally go back!

If you are anywhere near downtown Riverside and craving a phenomenal sandwich, you have to stop by Upper Crust! They have been in. Usiness for 26 years! This was our first time visiting, and the owner, Ritha (apologies for the spelling), went out of her way to be incredibly welcoming and gave us some fantastic recommendations. I love that every sandwich is completely customizable with your choice of bread and toppings, plus it comes with a side. They offer macaroni salad, coleslaw, potato salad, and pasta salad (all of them are homemade except for the mac salad!). **My top recommendations:** You absolutely have to try the Turkey on Squaw bread or the Pastrami—both were absolute winners! Pair it with the homemade pasta salad and you’re set. Great food, amazing owner, and a perfect lunch spot!

Took the recommendation of the chicken salad sandwich on squaw, very delicious. I found the tuna to be a little too sweet but otherwise good too. Potato salad was very savory and the pasta salad was refreshing. The clam chowder was also very nice with the lunch special.
